Our Filter

Unlike the current traditional cigarette filter, which is made of cellulose acetate–a form of toxic plastic–our filter uses all-organic fibers, which break down and becomes compost much more readily and in significantly less time than cellulose acetate will.

Our filter has no impact on the smoking experience by consumers. Using special blends of these organic fibers, smokers will have the same “taste” and “buzz” that is appreciated now with a traditional filter. However, our filter is 100% safe to use and is biodegradable which will have a notable impact at reducing the harmful effect Tobacco littering causes to the planet.

The current traditional filter never breaks down or dissipates even with the steady deteriorating effects of weather, sun, and water present in the environment. Instead, it breaks apart into smaller and smaller pieces until it is not visibly seen–which can take up to 15 years. That does not mean its presence is not there or has no environmental impact.

Cellulose acetate is a plastic–a synthetic material that is not natural to the environment–and all plastics effect our planet’s environmental ecosystems and the wildlife within them. Plastics have a lasting effect in contaminating and changing our planet and the impact of that pollution is still being studied and researched. The chemicals that are the byproduct of plastic–and produced by the breakdown of plastic in our environment–is toxic to our planet and the life forms that inhabit it.

Our biodegradable filter will break down within 6 months; in even less time when there is moisture present in the form of rain, snow, or water. It will reduce the harmful impact plastic has on the Earth’s environments and the wildlife of our planet–in the form of Tobacco littering– by decomposing and becoming part of the natural organic compounds of the Earth.
